When you upgrade, you'll get any remaining time on your 1Password for Individuals membership credited back to your account, and we'll bill you for your first month of 1Password Families. You can upgrade by signing in to, clicking Invite People in the sidebar and choosing Upgrade to a Family. For comparison, if you choose to be billed annually then it's $4.99/month and $1/month for additional members/guests. If you do need more that 5 members or guests, then these are billed at $1.39/month. You get 5 family members (including yourself) and 5 guests with your membership, so plenty of flexibility if and when you need to add or remove people. It's great to hear you want to get your kids started with good password habits! 1Password Families is $6.95/month if you choose to be billed monthly.
